Tested rigorously in real-world conditions, this awning delivers outstanding durability. DARCHE is the first in Australia to conduct extensive wind testing on a freestanding awning, putting the Eclipse 270 through a 30-day trial using a professional wind speed data logging system. Results showed the awning remained intact in winds up to 55 km/h, and with poles deployed and pegged down, held firm at 90 km/h. Integrated break points help protect your vehicle by allowing controlled failure in extreme conditions, making repairs straightforward and damage minimal.
While it’s rated to handle freestanding conditions up to 30 km/h, DARCHE strongly recommends using the included poles and guy ropes at all times—especially when mounted to a rooftop tent.
