ARB – TrackPack Series II
The ARB 4×4 TrackPack Series II is basically a 70-liter backpack for your vehicle and straps onto your spare wheel. Most will use the TrackPack to haul their trash, but the internal divider and two side pockets enable more uses such as hauling lightweight recovery gear or other equipment.
Construction is heavy-duty nylon throughout. The interior surfaces are rubberized and the bottom of the main compartment is mesh to allow drainage and facilitate easy cleaning with a garden hose. There is a divider for the 60-liter main compartment that can be deployed to separate the main compartment into two separate, 30-liter compartments if desired. The top is a roll-top design that is rolled on itself and then secured on the sides with Fastex buckles to prevent water ingress and minimize flapping and buffeting on the highway. The two side compartments have a volume of 4.5 liters each, and there are eyelets at the bottom to allow drainage. Seatbelt-style nylon straps reinforce the TrackPack on top, bottom, and sides to prevent tearing and buckling when heavily loaded. All of the materials are UV-resistant and there are two reflective stripes for added visibility in the dark.
In addition to the typical X-pattern of belts to attach the TrackPack to your spare wheel, there is also an additional anti-slouch strap that prevents the TrackPack from slipping down your spare wheel as most trash backpacks do. Thus the TrackPack will also remain looking smart and at your desired height.
The TrackPack is distinctly different in design from the MSA 4×4 Rear Wheel Rubbish Bin, which has no internal divider or side pockets and is designed to be a very simple trash hauler with a single compartment, clean lines, no external straps or buckles, and minimal buffeting at highway speeds. Both the TrackPack and Rear Wheel Rubbish Bin are valid designs and both are excellent, so take a look at both and decide what you would prefer.
